Sealed With a Curse: A Weird Girls Novel

Sealed with a Curse - Cecy Robson A decent story, but nothing more. The first chapters got me interested, mosly because the narrator, Celia, seemed badass and witty. However, while the book was a fast-paced and easy read, I grew tired of said narrator's constant insecurities and inner whining about relationships (with such dangers looming ahead, my love life would seriously be the least of my concerns). The romance and love triangle felt contrived and pushed, too, as if the author had felt compelled to put it in 'because it sells' or something like that. Too often the other sisters' characters seemed one-dimensional, when I would've expected them to be more fleshed out. As for the reveal about the Big Baddie Behind It All, it was somewhat... cheesy.

I don't know if I'll read the second book. The world depicted in this one appeared as full of potential, but I'm not sure I feel involved enough with the characters to bother.
