Beautiful Creatures. by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Beautiful Creatures - Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl Hesitating between 3 and 4 stars for this one.

I enjoyed the story, and found its setting interesting and well-developed, while also allowing for tackling issues such as being rejected and ostracized for no real reason (especially by a whole town). Lena's family was an interesting bunch of people to read about, each with their own quirks, with a tragic past looming over them.

On the other hand, I found the book a little too long, and it left me with a feeling of tiredness. I think the authors could have left a few parts out, or not have them drag. I'm also not sure about the narrating voice—Ethan is an overall positive character, but I'm not sure about some of his reactions as a 16-year-old boy (some seemed too mature, and maybe less expected from a boy than from a girl?).

Still, I may read the next one in the series.
