Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke and Bone)

Days of Blood and Starlight - Laini Taylor I had liked the first book, and I liked this one even better. In part because there's less of the romance aspect—if anything, said romance really isn't going the easy way—and in part because of all the twists and turns, especially in the last third of the story. The author has a way of making you believe something, only to make you realize later on what exactly happened, how, and why. I guess I like being manipulated that way?
