Storm Front (The Dresden Files, Book 1)

Storm Front - Jim Butcher Not the best book in the world, but I wasn't expecting highbrow literature either—I was expecting some kind of pulp novel in a UF setting with a wizard as a hero, and as such, I got my money's worth. Just what I needed in a time when I was on the road, and with a limited ability to focus at length on something more complicated.

This book contained its lot of clichés—nothing I hadn't already seen elsewhere, or simply in more classical detective stories, and the overall take on Harry's relationships and views about women is kind of simplistic and a little overdone. However, I've heard the series gets better after a few volumes, and I'm willing to give it a try.
